Examination for Acceleration
Georgetown ISD is offering opportunities this summer for
secondary students to earn credit in Academic subjects and to
accelerate a grade level. The purpose of examination for
acceleration is to allow a student to accelerate and earn credit
for a particular course or grade level without formal
instruction in that course of grade level. The student must
score a minimum of 90% on the required tests taken for the
appropriate course/grade the student wants to skip.
Testing dates have been set for June 24th, 25th,
26th and July 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Any GISD student is eligible to participate in testing without
charge at the time of the regularly scheduled administration.
Students interested in participating in the examination for
acceleration program should pick up a registration form from the
counselor's office or at the curriculum office at the Central
Office Administration Building.
Registration forms must be returned to one of those locations
by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008.

as the 2007-2008 teacher of the year. Ms. Whittenton is a 7th grade
science teacher, team leader and she serves on many committees
at Benold. She is an outstanding teacher and we are happy
to award her with this honor. |

Running low on
school supplies?
The Benold Barn has many
school supplies available at a low price for our students.
We currently have in stock notebooks, notebook paper, pens,
pencils, rulers, protractors, index cards, divider pages,
graph paper, folders, highlighters and many other items. If
you need it for school, come see us in the Barn before you
make that extra trip downtown.

Recycle &
Benefit Benold!
Our school may soon be off for the summer however our
Recycle Paper Bins are
open 24/7 ALL SUMMER LONG. Please keep on depositing all
your paper,
magazines, junk mail, old school papers, newspapers, just
about any kind
of paper, except cardboard. Benold can continue to earn
money all
summer long and we can keep our community GREEN by
RECYCLING. Also we
continue to collect ink jet cartridges, cell phones at the
Bubble until
school ends. Thanks and wishing all a great
