    GHS ART CLUB COMMUNITY PROJECT: 2013-14 
     

    Basic Art Course Information taught by Ms. Mitchell:

    Art 1:
    Is a "Survey to the Visual Arts", it is a "pre-requisite" to all other Visual Arts Courses. It is a broad range of 2-D and 3-D projects that are taught, various materials and techniques are introduced, plus recognizing the nuances and need for craftsmanship are strongly emphasized. This course is to encourage and engage ALL students, giving them a wide and varied experience with many successful projects. The course undoubtly includes and intertwines the rich knowledge of art history & world cultures that naturally pair- Art is a Treasure for Life.

    *(1 year ART 1 Course is worth Graduation Fine Arts Credit).
     
    Painting II-IV:
    Beginner to Advanced Painting Course; We are learning and further developing skills and our visual vocabulary with various techniques including watercolor, ink, gouache, acrylics, printmaking, and other mixed media materials and methods. We will be using classical, design oriented, primitive, regional, and sometimes "unconventional" methods. Homework sketches, mini-assignments, supplies, an Art Lab Fee, and outside of Class Projects or Finals are required.
     
    $30 art fee, some paint supplies, small tool box/pouch, sketchbook, and portfolio needed
     
     
    2-D AP Portfolio: 
    A "College Board Advanced Placement Studio Art Course", 
    Specializing in 2D-Design or Drawing
    Students will prepare a college level art portfolio and submit for possible college credit.
    Recommended for the serious art students only, juniors and seniors.
     
    $30 art fee, personal supplies with a small tool box, a large portfolio, and sketchbooks will be used all year long.
     
     
     
     
    ART FEES ARE NEEDED FOR LEVEL II-IV & AP COURSES
    Please turn in as soon as possible, so we may get right to work. 
    Cash or Checks are written to GHS, $30 for Art 2-4 plus AP;
    receipts will be given to students.
