My Education & Teaching Background:
I graduated from Southern Illinois University (GO DAWGS!) with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. After working many years with adults in physical rehabilitation, I discovered my true passion lies in teaching. I received my teaching certification in Art (all levels). This is my 16th year teaching Art, and I am honored to be teaching at East View High School in Georgetown ISD. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Nadene, for 23 years. She is a Speech Pathologist at East View High School and Williams Elementary. My son, Topher, was a member of the first graduating class of East View High School, Class of 2014. He is a Junior at Texas State University and was a member of the Bobcat Marching Band,(Eat 'em Up Cats!), for two years. This year he is an RA at San Jacinto Hall, using many of the leadership skills he gained by being a student at East View High School. My daughter, Lexi, is an 10th grader at East View High School. She is a member of the East View Marching Patriots and proudly plays the Tuba/Sousaphone!
We are proud to be a Patriot Family and a part of #TEAMGISD!
The art classes at East View High School are designed to teach the basics of art, and to consistently build upon the individual skill level of each artist in my class. We will be focusing on the ability to be the innovators of design and creative thinkers. Art is all around you and affects many of your choices throughout the day. We are going to explore that ability to connect art and the modern world!
