Education & Teaching Background:
Bachelor of Arts in History from Western State College of Colorado, Gunnison, Colorado
Emphasis: Elementary EducationThis is my tenth-year at Raye McCoy Elementary and at GISD. This year will be my twenty-fifth year of teaching. I'm so excited for what this year has in store. I have had the pleasure over the past couple of years to coach Impromptu Speaking for UIL and to sponsor a Drama Club in the past for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. I have taught grades 1-6 all subjects. My experience has been both in private and public schools in the beautiful state of Colorado and in Texas.A Little About MeMy husband Robert and I live in Cedar Park and moved to the area from Baytown, TX. fourteen years ago. My husband is a Houston native and I grew up in Post, about forty miles southeast of Lubbock. We are both huge football fans. I like to work in the yard, go fishing and hunting with my dad, go to church and I love to listen to music and sing. We frequently attend concerts, musicals and movies. I love to travel but, don't get a chance very often. My hope is to go to New England in the autumn sometime since that is my favorite time of the year and I love cold weather. We like animals but have not had a pet in several years. We would like to have a dog someday soon but we are rather undecided on what kind.As a student I loved to go to school I would cry if I was ill in elementary school and beg my mom to go to school. I did have to study a lot though to get good grades. I participated in Band, Choir, Drama,Basketball, Golf, Science and Math Club and UIL band, choir, drama and speech. I was the first one on both sides of my family to graduate from high school but have since had 2 sisters and 3 brothers graduate. I was until last winter the only one of the six of us to graduate from college. My youngest brother graduated from Lubbock Christian University last December. So proud of him.
So many blessings!
