GISD Mission: Inspiring and Empowering every learner to Lead, Grow, and Serve
GISD Vision: Home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered LEADERS
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has released the "What If" A-F ratings for Domains I-IV based on data from the 2015-16 school year. To reiterate the communication sent to parents from last month, theses new A-F ratings are hypothetical; in August 2016, TEA released the official state accountability ratings for the 2015-16 school year in which the Frost campus and the district received a "Met Standard" rating.
Regular school attendance is a crucial component of student success. Research shows that students who attend school consistently are more likely to succeed than those who are chronically tardy and/or absent. Frost has set an attendance goal of 97.5% for the month of February. We are encouraging our families to PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST and make your child's education a priority by ensuring they are at school on time and stay the entire day. Grade level classes are competing to be the winner of the Golden A award each month. We hope to see your child at school every day, all day!
As you are aware, we are preparing for the opening of a new Annie Purl Elementary that will serve students from the current Annie Purl and Williams campuses. Over the next couple of weeks, Georgetown ISD will be reassessing the bus service area around Annie Purl Elementary for the 2017- 2018 school year. It is the normal practice of GISD that each time a new campus is built or attendance zones are changed, we review the transportation zones for those affected areas. The purpose of this assessment is to create service zones that are consistent with all other schools in the district and provide the best services possible for all students.
