Janae Pierce, our McCoy Librarian, has honors coming her way! Janae received the McCoy Elementary School 2016 Teacher of the Year, District Elementary 2016 Teacher of the Year and the Mirabeau B Lamar Award. We celebrate her accomplishments with her and are very proud to have her on staff!!!
If you have not done so, please visit McCoy to Register your incoming 2015-2016 Kindergartner student. Required documents for registration are: birth certificate, social security card, parent ID, current shot records and proof of residence (utility bill). Scholars are encouraged to become involved in our Bring Your Own Device Program and bring their Smartphone, iPad, etc. to school on designated days. Please follow the title link to obtain the 2014-2015 Guidelines. Students must have a signed document returned to their classroom teacher before participating in this program.
The GISD Athletics Department is offering a summer wrestling camp for boys and girls in grades 6 -12. Camp will be held July 6-8 from 8 a.m. to noon in the EVHS Wrestling Room. Registration is $75. To sign up online, go to http://www.georgetownisd.org/athletic_camps
Georgetown ISD will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 29 to discuss the school district’s budget and determine the tax rate that will be adopted. The meeting will be held at the Georgetown ISD Administration Building located at 603 Lakeway Drive.
In March, the Georgetown ISD Board of Trustees authorized a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to evaluate facility and equipment needs across the district and to recommend possible solutions.
