    Force and Motion Test: Tuesday, 2/13/18
    Tuesday, December 12th, 2017: CBA's over stars, the H-R diagram and the electromagnetic spectrum.
    Friday, December 15th, 2017: Universe test. Universe Review Sheet. Universe Review Sheet Key. Agendas are due on Friday. Friday is also the last day to turn in late or make-up work.
    Monday, December 18, 2017: 2nd 9 weeks journal test.
    Between now and Christmas break:
    We will be learning about the universe, stars, galaxies, and other objects found in the universe. We will only be discussing how scientific data is used to develop the most accepted scientific theories on the origin of the universe. All questions and answers will need to be based on scientific data and scientific theories and explanations.
    Before Thanksgiving Break:
    Austin Watershed Protection Hackathon - if interested, fill out and turn in permission slip by this Friday morning (11/17/17). I have not been told when students will be notified.
    Tuesday, 11/14/17 - Vocabulary          test over seasons, moon phases,      and tides.
    Wednesday, 11/15/17 - Moon              Phases CBA
    Thursday, 11/16/17 - Unit Test            over  seasons, moon phases, and      tides. Unit 5 Review 
    Friday, 11/17/17 - Moon phase            project due 9this was assigned        on October 18, 2017.
    We are wrapping up the 1st nine weeks.
    Journal Test on Wednesday, 10/4/17.
    Chemistry Unit Test on Thursday, 10/5/17. Students received the review on 9/28/17.
    Help session/make-up/tutoring times are every morning (except Wednesday) from 8:00 am - 8:45 am, and Monday and Wednesday after school from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. I will post when I will not be available (duty, meetings, etc.).

    We will work on critical thinking, science vocabulary, science reading, science writing, and science math skills in each unit. We will be emphasizing claims, evidence, and reasoning strategies.


    My conference period is from 3:10-4:00 pm. This is the best time to contact me by phone.
    My 8th grade silver team time is 10:08 - 10:56 am. You can catch me by phone sometimes.

    Lifelong Learning
    I have been a member of the TRC (Texas Regional Science Collaborative) for the past 11 years. I attend at least 100 hours of in-depth science instruction each year. I bring back unique, hands-on lessons to the classroom from the workshops that I attend. The past six years, I have been a science teacher mentor.

    Forbes Middle School (present):
    This will be my 17th year to teach at Forbes Middle School. I started teaching 8th grade science  and IPC at Forbes when the school opened in 2001. I am currently the science department chair. 

    Round Rock High School:
    I taught various science classes at Round Rock High School for 17 years. I also taught summer science camps through Round Rock Community Schools.
