My name is Heather Casstevens Moeller and I am the counselor for McCoy Elementary School. The 2017-2018 school year is my ninth year with Georgetown ISD, my fourteenth year as a mental health professional, and my second year here at McCoy.

In May of 2017 I received "Support Employee Of The Year" for Georgetown ISD. I was so incredibly surprised and honored!! Click on the link below to see a major Moeller moment :)

    My Bio:

In 2003 I graduated from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi with my Master of Arts in Psychology. From there I went on to become a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) at the Office of Alan T. Fisher, Ph.D. in Corpus Christi. Dr. Fisher provided psychological services to many school districts in South Texas and this was where my love of providing mental health services to schools was born. In 2005 I became a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).

Over the course of 2005 and 2006 I taught Developmental Psychology as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department of Texas A&M at Corpus Christi. This was such a fun time and I really enjoyed the energy and enthusiasm of students at the university level.

Time moved on and in the fall of 2006 I decided to practice exclusively in the public school setting as an LSSP. For the next 7 years I traveled to conduct psychological evaluations, consult campuses on emotional and behavioral supports, and provide Counseling as a Related Service through the Special Education department. I had many wonderful experiences in that role.

In 2014 I decided to make my world smaller and drive around town less! I moved into a campus based General Education Counselor role and soon attained my 3rd professional mental health license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Here at McCoy I'll work with students on many levels. All K-5 classes will participate in school wide guidance lessons. These lessons are inspired and adapted from a couple of different sources: the Core Essentials Program and the MindUP Curriculum. In order to support student success I also hold small group sessions, lunch bunches, and individual counseling sessions.

I'm not just a counselor! I’m also a wife and a mother of three fabulous GISD students. My oldest is a senior in high school and my twins are seventh graders.
