Welcome to Sixth Grade at Forbes Middle School!
Please help your child check to see which supplies need to be replaced. Many students are out of pencils and blank notebook paper by the time we reach the fourth Nine Weeks. Please help monitor your child's backpack, so that you can help supplies be replenished as the year progresses.
An Agenda Book is given to each student at the beginning of each nine weeks. Agendas are organizational tools that are utilized by the whole sixth grade. Your child's teachers all feel that it is a vital tool to use for our scholars to be successful. The Agenda Book will benefit students in staying organized in all of their classes, serve as a reminder for homework and important dates, and help parents stay connected as well. Agenda Books are expected to be kept in the Main Binder, and brought to all classes. If an Agenda Book is lost, students can purchase another one for $1 from Mrs. Yvonne Smith, Team Leader (SmithY@georgetownisd.org) in room D-149.
Skyward Family Access:
Skyward is an online system that Georgetown schools use to help parents/guardians stay up to date with their children’s attendance and grades. Using the program, you can check your child’s grades in each class. It also allows you to enter your e-mail address, and the system will automatically send you e-mail alerts. Bring Your Own Device is a program which allows students with mobile devices to use them in class with teacher permission. Teachers want to emphasize that BYOD only happens with teacher permission – otherwise student devices are expected to be out of sight. Students are welcome to use their devices during the morning time (8:25-8:41am) while in the hallways. In the mornings, devices are not to be used in the cafeteria - only in the hallways.
