• Austin Community College's Dual Credit Program

Dual Credit at Austin Community College allows juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school.
DC is a good thing to consider for the following reasons:

    • Students get a head start on earning college credit
    • Tuition and fees are waived if the class is taken on the GHS campus
    • College level work can enhance self-esteem, education and career goals
    • Most course are transferable to other public colleges universities

Students must meet with their high school counselor and obtain information to becoming registered as an ACC student. This is usually February of their 10th grade year. An ACC application as well as meeting ACC entrance requirements must be met prior to being scheduled for these classes at GHS.

Note:  it is strongly recommended that students and parents contact their child's destination college to ensure acceptance of specific dual credit courses.  Remember, there are two entities at each college to contact:  the college's general admission office as well as the college's major or field of study program.
