Senate Bill 9, also known as the "Fingerprinting Bill", was signed into law by Governor Perry in the Fall of 2007. This bill requires that all substitutes undergo a national criminal history record information review by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Therefore, before you can be employed as a substitute in Georgetown ISD, you will be required to provide your fingerprints to be checked against the national criminal history database.
Note: You will be required to pay the fees associated with the fingerprinting process. The cost is from $51.00 to $53.00 depending on the method of payment. Additional details concerning the fingerprinting process will be provided when you attend a Substitute orientation.
You will need to bring the following items with you to the orientation:
- A copy of your high school diploma, GED or college transcript.
- Original proof of identity and employment eligibility. A driver's license and social security card are acceptable. Please make copies of ALL documents required with you to an orientation session.
We appreciate your interest in becoming a Georgetown Independent School District Substitute.
