Miss Madeline Saragusa

¡Bienvenidos! Welcome!

I am thrilled to be back here at Georgetown High School for the second year and am looking forward to a successful school year!  I teach Spanish I and Spanish II and am prepared to help all students succeed in language learning!  It will be a fun, creative, exciting, and productive year.

I bring to the classroom 10 years of Spanish language study, as well as many travels and cultural experiences.  I feel that my positive mindset and passion for the language speaks loudly in the classroom.

  • Class/Course Information

Learning Spanish, or any language, is difficult!  My goal in this class is to encourage students to take risks.  Learning another language puts learners in a very vulnerable position; no one wants to babble on and sound like they don't know what they're talking about, but to learn a new language, you have to learn by tripping over your own words!  Making mistakes helps us learn, so everyone in the class will be required to speak Spanish, and it will be taken into account for their participation grades.   Once we can break through the barrier of fear that holds us back from diving fully into a language, we will succeed tremendously!

Both Spanish I and II courses are very important.  Having a strong foundation and a vast knowledge of the basics is key.  Using our textbook  (Así se dice) as a guide, our class will explore the language through conversation, reading, writing, and listening.
