Dear Bobcats,

I hope all of you have had a wonderful summer and are ready to kickstart a fantastic school year.  I am so thrilled to begin my eleventh year of teaching, and my second year here at McCoy!  Teaching is my passion,  and each year is a new experience and adventure.  My philosophy is to treat students as if they are somebody's whole world, because they are!  My kids are my kids forever and they all hold special places in my heart. My first class graduated high school this year and I received several graduation announcements.  It made me so proud and honored to see each student grow and become successful.

I am originally from Corsicana, Texas where I spent my first year teaching 3rd grade at Fannin Elementary. I then moved to Round Rock where I taught 3rd and 4th grade at Voigt Elementary.  I had the opportunity to open a brand new school in Round Rock, Chandler Oaks, where I also taught 3rd and 4th grade.  I spent my last year in RRISD teaching 4th at Cactus Ranch Elementary. My husband and I decided to make Georgetown our permanent home and built a house in Georgetown Village. We are finally settled in and are loving the neighborhood and being so close to McCoy.

I have been married to my husband Kyle for over 9 years, and we have a daughter, Madison who will be in 3rd grade at McCoy this year.  She is excited to be upstairs with me!  She enjoys playing soccer, dancing, art,  singing, riding her bike, swimming, and running around the neighborhood with her friends.  We also have a poodle named Maverick.  He mostly enjoys laying around and eating!  He's a lazy boy!

This summer was very relaxing for me.  I spent most of my time hanging out with Madison and friends by the pool.  I finished some craft projects for our house and finally unpacked the last few boxes from moving.  We took a few short vacations to the Frio River and to Galveston Beach.  It was nice to be able to enjoy family and friends without the craziness of traveling too much this summer.

Again, I am so excited to get this year started!  We have many fun things planned and of course so much learning to do.   Teaching kids to become lifelong learners and find their passions is of utmost importance to me and I cannot wait to get to know each one of you!
