Hello Fabulous Ford Families,
My name is Jodi Conrad and I am excited to be your child’s literacy and/or math intervention teacher here at Ford Elementary! I teach Reading Recovery to first graders needing one-to-one intense reading instruction, and also work with small groups of K-2 grade students to build their literacy and math knowledge.
This is my 22nd year of teaching. For the past 11 years, I taught first grade. I also taught 2nd grade for seven years, was a Reading Recovery Teacher for three years, and a Special Education teacher for one year. I LOVE working with children and have a passion for teaching that began as a child! Being a Literacy/Math Intervention teacher allows me to work with many children at different grade levels—supporting their needs in both reading and math. I work closely with the classroom teachers to ensure that I am working on skills your child needs specific help with, along with reinforcing the skills that are happening in the classroom.
My husband Bob, our two sons Matt and Sam, and I live here in Georgetown. Bob is an AP World History teacher at Round Rock High School. My boys both went to Ford Elementary and are now in 9th and 7th grades. They are involved in golf, tennis, and orchestra. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, working in the yard, exercising, and of course READING!
