COLLEGE BOARD AP CHEMISTRY: The AP Chemistry Course and Exam Description details the essential information required to understand the objectives and expectations of an AP course. Digital copies are available on both my own website and on the college board website.
The AP Chemistry course is designed to be the equivalent of the general chemistry course usually taken during the first college year. It is designed to be taken only after the successful completion of a first course in high school chemistry. In addition, the recommended mathematics prerequisite for an AP Chemistry class is the successful completion of a second-year algebra course.TextbookFor the 2017-18 school year GHS AP Chemistry students will be issued a hard copy of the textbook.Zumdahl, Steven and Susan Zumdahl. Chemistry, Eighth Edition. Belmont CA: Cengage Learning, 2012.Students will be given access to copies of notes, homework, tutorial videos and updated schedules through their GISD Google Classroom account. These accounts are for students only through their Georgetown ISD assigned Google account. Parents may request to be added to their student's individual classroom by emailing a request to me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the request and the name of the student whose account you would like to be added to. Multiple parent/guardian accounts may be applied to the student account.
