• About Mrs. Hill

My name is Heather Hill.  I am so excited about third grade this year!

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I lived in the same house until I graduated from high school, and my parents STILL live there! As a child, I loved playing school and always knew I would be a teacher.

After graduating from high school, I moved to Auburn, Alabama to attend Auburn University. I graduated in 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in mathematics.

I moved back to Baton Rouge to begin my teaching career in 2nd grade. A year later, I married my college sweetheart, and moved to Austin to teach 1st grade.
  • The following year I was hired at McCoy. I taught 5th grade for three years before moving down to 3rd grade. This is my fourteenth year teaching 3rd grade, and I wouldn't choose it differently! I love watching the kiddos grow and blossom all year!

I have been married for seventeen years to my best friend. We have a ten year old son (Connor) that is in fifth grade this year and a three year old daughter (Presley). They both keep us laughing!  We also have a three year old silver lab named Lucy that encourages us to keep a clean house. She loves to chew EVERYTHING that is left on the floor!

Our family definitely keeps us busy! I have one brother and two sisters, and my husband has two brothers and two sisters. Between all of them, we have sixteen nieces and nephews! When we get together for holidays, it is like another classroom!!

I love to travel, and one of my goals is to visit every state in the United States. I am well on my way! As a child, some of my favorite memories were our annual road trips to Idaho to visit my grandparents. We recently bought an RV and are starting to make memories with our own family. This summer we traveled for three weeks and saw Colorado Springs, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, and 4,600 miles in between. We are already planning our next adventure!
