Join the discussion of our Dual Language program, Gomez & Gomez framework, program 50/50 model (English & Spanish), program expectations and applicant selection process. Mitchell has a fun and exciting line-up of clubs that meet on Mondays and Thursday, either before or after school. Mitchell's PreK students will enjoy nature's gift of fresh air, open fields, and beautiful Spring flowers when they visit Berry Springs Park on Friday, April 27th. The Park and Preserve offers a historic compound, with an interactive trail, fishing pond, a boardwalk, gardens and nature trails. In addition, there are shady playgrounds, wildflower meadows, along the two Park donkeys, Poco and Amigo. The day will inspire imagination, fill the senses and stimulate play and laughter! Students will leave Mitchell at 9:30 am and return at 1:30 pm.

The Y After school provides a safe, nurturing environment for all children (K-5th grade) by promoting healthy character development of spirit, mind and body. Besides a nutritious snack, children will have homework as well as tutoring time, engage in arts & crafts, play organized games and much more during their afternoons with us. Here are just a few friendly reminders to get our new year started: First bell rings at 7:50 am, Tardy bell rings at 7:55. Our release time at the end of day is at 3:10. Transportation changes are recommended to be called in by 2 pm to our Mitchell Office (512-943-1829). A note to the child's teacher is also acceptable and much appreciated. This ensures all students return home safely as planned by parents.
The Mitchell Lunch Schedule is as follows: Pre-K at 10:30; Kinder at 10:40; 1st-11:30; 2nd -11:05; 3rd-11:55; 4th-12:50 and 5th at 12:20. You can now access your school lunch menu! Mark your calendars for enrollment events for the 2018-2019 school year including new high school students and pre-k and kindergarten. April 25th for High School New Student Enrollment@ EVHS/GHS - 5 to 7 PM, and May 9 for PK/KG New Student Enrollment @ Mitchell 4 - 6:30 PM Please note that parents/authorized adults must first electronically register their child at www.georgetownisd.org/enrollment (when site becomes available). This process may be done from any computer. Parents/authorized adults are also required to go to the appropriate campus at specified date and time in order to complete the registration process. PreK Qualifying Criteria: Meet income requirements or receive TANF or SNAP; Speak a language other than English as their primary language; have a parent who is eligible for the Star of Texas Award; Have a parent who is currently active duty military or a parent who was injured or killed in active duty; Homeless or; Have been served in foster care Documents to bring: Certified original student birth certificate; Parent/guardian photo ID; Current immunizations records; Current proof of residency in the district (electric, gas, water bill); Student's Social Security Card and Proof of PreK qualifying criteria.
Georgetown ISD’s newest elementary school, Annie Purl Elementary, opened in August 2017, and was designed to support the district's Learner Profile, a strategic framework used to develop specific actions and measurable goals for instruction. This spring, that building was recognized by Learning by Design as an 2018 Outstanding Project.
The Georgetown Independent School District Board of Trustees named Justin Del Bosque as the new principal for Forbes Middle School during its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 17.
