Photo Identification is required when picking up a child from YMCA. Please be prepared to show your ID to the person at the desk. This is for the safety of the children.-YMCA sites currently use Kid Kiosk to keep attendance. YMCA staff will check your child in at the beginning of the Afterschool day on the iPad provided at the Parent desk. Parent or person picking up will be responsible for using the assigned PIN for checking out a child on the iPad. Please assist us in keeping our attendance correct by checking out your child on a daily basis. During All Day Outs, Holiday Camp, and Spring Break Camp - Parent or person dropping off AND picking up will be responsible for using the iPad provided and their PIN to check a child IN and OUT. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.Cell Phone Conversations - Please end all cell phone conversations before entering the building for pick-up/delivery of your child/children. Texas law now states that cell phones may not be used while in a school driveway or in a school zone. Please do not use cell phone when on the school grounds. Thank you for helping keep our/your children and you safe!Tuition Reminder - Please look over the tuition payment schedule that you were given upon registration. Monthly tuition is due on the first working day of each month. A $40.00 late fee will will be added (per child) on the third working day. Alternate arrangements MUST be made through the YMCA office (512-246-9622) before the third working day. Exceptions may not be made at the campus. Campus/Sites may not take monies for tuition or late payments.Hours of Operation -Monday - Friday 6:30 - 7:45 AM and 2:00 - 6:30 PM. Early Release days - care will be provided from the time school releases until 6:30 PM.Late Pick-up Fee - YMCA campus sites hours are that they close at 6:30 PM. If a child is picked up after 6:30 PM, there will be a charge of $1.00 for every minute that they are beyond 6:30 PM. This late fee is charged/assessed per child.All Day Outs/Early Releases -These are days when school is closed for teacher in-service/workdays that YMCA provides full day care (6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.).There is no additional cost for these full days - October 6, 2017; October 9, 2017; November 20, 2017; November 21, 2017; December 22, 2017; February 19, 2018; February 20, 2018; April 16, 2018; and early release days - December 21, 2017; May 31, 2018.No Care Provided on the following Dates - September 4, 2017; November 22, 2017; November 23, 2017; November 24, 2017; December 25, 2017; January 1, 2018; January 15, 2018; March 30, 2018; April 16, 2018 (this is a Bad Weather Make-Up Day, so no care if not needed to be used as such); and May 28, 2018YMCA Holiday Camp - These are days during the Winter Break that YMCA will provide full day care at an additional cost per day - December 26, 2017 through December 29, 2017 and January 2, 2018 through January 5, 2018.YMCA Spring Break Camp - These are days during Spring Break that YMCA will provide full day care at an additional cost per day - March 12 - 16, 2018.Student Absences - If your child will be absent from Mitchell YMCA, please contact us at 512-943-1826 and leave a message informing us so that we do not mistake your child as missing.Homework opportunities - YMCA offers a homework rotation for 1st through 5th grades, Monday - Thursday. All scholars (1st through 5th) have 30 minutes in which to work on homework and reading assignments. We provide homework assistance at this time providing that the scholars let us know they are in need of help (raise a hand, ask questions, etc.). If scholars do not complete their work in the allotted time, they will need to work on it at home. If your child informs us that he/she does not have homework, we will provide them with a No Homework Contract that they will sign to be shared with parents and teachers so that they are aware each day that this takes place. Please look over your scholars homework that has been completed at YMCA Also, look at assignment book, homework folder, Take-Home folder, and anything that may be sent by the classroom teacher on a Daily basis. Students will not be allowed to return to their classrooms once the school bell has released them for the day, so please help us in reminding them that they need to be responsible for bringing all their belongings with them at the end of the day. Health and Wellness - YMCA will encourage all children to partake in activities that they may share with their families that will promote Health and Wellness in all of our lives. We will work to provide at least 20 minutes of Red-Faced Active activities in the gym or outside each day for the children to be involved in. We will promote good eating habits with fresh fruits and vegetables as well as other healthy snacks each day. We invite suggestions as to activities that will help to promote keeping our bodies healthy and well.
Health/Medical Conditions - If your child has a known medical condition and/or takes medication, please inform the YMCA staff and enter the items on child's registration form. We must have current phone numbers and other contact information at all times. If your child is ill, please keep them home. If a child is sent home from YMCA with a fever of 100.4 or above, they must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning to school and YMCA. YMCA staff will inform the school nurse if a child is sent home during the YMCA program and the reason why.
