Richarte High School is GISD’s academic alternative school of choice for students in grades 9 – 12.  Richarte provides students with the opportunity to earn a state-accredited high school diploma. Students who attend Richarte are considered at-risk for a myriad of factors including, but not limited to: credit deficiency, difficulty succeeding in a traditional school environment, illness, family issues, or teen parenthood. Richarte seeks to prevent students from dropping out as well as to recover those who have already left the school system.
  • Winship Marsha Winship has been the principal at Richarte High School since 2003.  She holds a bachelor of science in education from the University of North Texas, a master of science in education from the University of Maine, and a master of arts in education from Marian College.

Mrs. Winship is married and has two adult children.  She enjoys quilting, gardening, and reading.
