• Counseling and Mental Health

Students develop awareness of issues related to mental health, stress management, and wellness across the life span. They are able to differentiate between functional and dysfunctional behaviors.  Students model the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a counseling and mental health career through simulated environments.  Students are expected to apply knowledge of ethical and legal responsibilities, limitations, and the implications of their actions.  The student researches career options and the preparation necessary for employment in mental health.  Communication and team work are important in exploring all aspects of this class.
