Varsity Coach:  Kara Del Bosque

    Coach Kara (Jones) Del Bosque is beginning her first year as the Head Volleyball Coach at East View High School. Coach Del Bosque has 6 years head volleyball coaching experience, including trips to the playoffs and state tournament (2014). In addition to her duties as the head volleyball coach, Coach Del Bosque will also serve as the girls’ coordinator and teacher at East View.  Kara is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where she was a dual sport athlete (basketball) for one year and a four year starter on the volleyball team. Coach Del Bosque finished her college career a three time All-Tournament team member. Established a new school record in total blocks versus Air Force on her way to leading the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in solo blocks as a junior. Her blocks per set average and total blocks are second best in Tech history and was fourth in the WAC. Kara ranks third all-time on the Louisiana Tech career blocks list, and finished her senior season by leading the Techsters in attack percentage, total kills and total blocks. Coach Del Bosque is married to Justin Del Bosque who will also be joining the district. She has two children Skylar (4) and Mason (4 months). They are very excited to be joining the district and community.
    Varsity Assistant and JV Coach: Emily Durell
    Coach Emily Durell is a graduate of Georgetown High School where she competed in both Varsity volleyball and basketball.  She assisted the basketball team to a state runner-up title.  While in school, Emily competed 5 years for Austin Juniors Volleyball club and competed at the Junior Olympic tournament. Upon graduation Emily received a volleyball scholarship to play collegiately at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, but later transferred to Tarleton State University.  She played three years for the Tarleton Texanns where she was a two-year All-Conference and All-Conference tournament team middle blocker.  Emily was also ranked nationally for hitting percentage among all college volleyball players and continues to hold a hitting percentage record at TSU.  She was the Tarleton Scholar Athlete of the Year her senior year.  After graduating from Tarleton, Emily pursued her MBA at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Emily is in her fifth year of teaching and coaching volleyball, basketball, and track at East View High School.  Her husband, David also coaches and teaches at East View.  In her free time she enjoys running, reading, and spending time outdoors.
    Flex Team Coach: Jolene Volek
    Coach Volek is a 2004 graduate of Granger High School. She participated in varsity volleyball, basketball, softball and track for four years. In 2002, she played on Granger's State Semi-finalist Volleyball team. In 2004, she was a member of Granger's State Championship Track team. Upon graduation in 2004, she signed to play softball for Hill College. There she was named to the All Conference team. She obtained her Associates Degree from Hill College in 2006. From Hill, she transferred to Tarleton State University where she received a Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Studies in 2008 and a Masters Degree in Education Administration in 2010.  Prior to becoming an East View Patriot, she was the assistant volleyball coach and head softball coach at Holland High School for five years. She is very excited about being an East View Patriot and all the opportunities that are to come for East View High School!  
    Freshman Team Coach: Amanda Benton 


    Coach Amanda Benton is a graduate of Leander High School where she competed in both volleyball and soccer. Upon graduation, Amanda went on to play soccer at the collegiate level at Concordia University. She received her BA degree in English and is currently teaching English III, and coaching volleyball and soccer at East View.
