I graduated in the Spring of 1996 from The University of Texas at El Paso in Bachelor of Arts. My major was in Political Science, and with a minor in Criminal Justice. In 2002, I got my Alternative Teaching Certificate to teach in the Texas Public School System. I came to the United States in 1971 from the country of Bangladesh, which was formerly East Pakistan. My dad was from there, and my mother is from England from the Birmingham area. I speak in English, Urdu, Bengali, Hindi, Spanish (not fluent), and some French. I came from the business world into the teaching profession. I was a store manager for Walgreen Drug Store in El Paso for 15 years.
My wife Maria and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary this past September 7th 2017. We have four children. All of our children have graduated from Universities in Texas with their MBA. Two of our sons work in the Washington D.C. area. Our oldest son lives here in South Austin, and he made us proud grandparents for the first time on December 2nd 2015. Our grandson Julian has brought us tremendous joy, and our daughter just recently got transferred to Fort Worth with her husband from Virginia.
I taught in El Paso for Ysleta Independent District for 10 years prior to re-locating to the Cedar Park area. I have greatly enjoyed teaching in the Texas Public School System. I'm beginning my fifth year at Georgetown I.S.D., and I couldn't have picked a better school district to work for over here. I'm truly blessed to be among the staff at Pickett Elementary. My philosophy of teaching is to inspire young minds to a higher level of thinking, and to challenge them to succeed. I treat every child with respect, love, compassion, and understanding, and never comparing any two students.
Student's Daily Behavior Sheet needs to be initialed by a parent. I will check this daily.
