This year, our classes will be learning about:
SOCIAL STUDIES:
 | Geography |
 | Contemporary World Societies and their histories |
Classroom Expectations:
 | Social Studies students will have a journal where all notes and
assignments are written or glued into the journal. These are the main
study sources for tests and quizzes. These journals will be collected and
graded once each 9 weeks. Students will be responsible for any notes
missed while they are absent. |
 | S.S. assignments are written on the board daily and I
encourage students to write homework assignments in their assignments
notebooks. My website will be updated weekly and information on upcoming tests
and current homework assignments will be posted. |
 | S.S. students need to bring their journals to class each day. All
students need to bring supplies including a black or blue pen, notebook paper
and No. 2 pencils. |
In addition to teacher-generated lessons and activities,
our curriculum comes from several sources including:
 | The HISTORY ALIVE! Contemporary World Cultures program, developed
by the Teacher's Curriculum Institute in Palo Alto, California |
 | The McDougal -Littel World Cultures and Geography text and
ancillary materials. |
 | Prentice Hall, Specific Skills Series, and a variety of other
sources will be used for the Language Arts curriculum. |
