Drama I (1 Semester) A TEKS-based course
open to 6th,
7th,
8th
grade students. During this course students will read a
play and use that play to learn about all
aspects of drama, including acting, in preparation for producing a play.
Students may have the opportunity to sew, write, perform monologues, pantomime,
improvise, build scenery models, build props, write and perform songs, design
and apply makeup and much more.
Drama II (1 Semester) This TEKS-based
course is open to 7th
and 8th
grade students who have taken Drama I or obtain teacher approval. Students
enrolled in this class will produce a play during the semester. During this
class students will read plays, act and write monologues and learn stage
etiquette, learn the areas of the stage, learn the audition process, perform
scenes, sew and much more. This elective may be taken multiple times.
Technical Theatre (1 Semester) This TEKS-based
course is open to 7th
and 8th
grade students who have taken at least Drama I or obtain teacher approval.
Thought this class students will create scenery, costumes, props, and makeup for
the Drama I and II productions. Students in the class serve as the technical
crew for all school productions as part of their grade. This elective may be
taken more than once.
*Projects, Productions, Course Work is determined by what
works best for each individual course, production needs, class sizes, and the
class's abilities through out the semester.
