Dear Parents/Guardians,
I want to inform you that I will be out on maternity leave starting
on Monday, February 8th. My husband and I are very excited to begin
a new journey with our little girl Brooke Avery Bashara. This has been
an amazing year, and I am very proud of all of my students. I ask that you
continue to be supportive, and that they continue to work diligently in history
class while I am gone.
Mr. Michalik has hired a very well-qualified certified teacher, Ms. Ann Gray, as
my replacement until I return. The best way to contact her is by calling
the classroom phone at 512-943-5090 ext. 6954, as she might not have access to
email. Please contact Ms. Gray if you have any questions or concerns.
Please encourage your child to continue studying their history material so they
are fully prepared for their History TAKS Test on Friday, April 30th. I have
already posted the rest of my online flashcards to help my students study the
chapters until the end of the year. There is also a link to my 100 Facts TAKS
Flashcards that students can begin studying now for the History TAKS Test.
I look forward to returning at the end of the year to see my wonderful students
again and hear all about what they learned while I was away.

*Due to the mass number of students I have, assignments, especially tests, will take me considerable time to grade. Students will be informed of their grades and grades will be uploaded to the new "Parent Connect" online once every child has taken the test and in a reasonable amount of time.
*Lesson plans are subject to change at Mrs. Bashara's discretion, depending on the progress of the students' comprehension and the pace of the classroom.
*GT Students will have more depth in the language of the discipline, details, rules and patterns. GT students will have more complex concepts relating across time, and they will be required to view multiple perspectives. Furthermore, GT students will be self-guided and teacher guided through different processes of the content and will be assigned to small GT group collaborations.
