A BRIEF HISTORY OF ZIMBABWE

My African country is Zimbabwe. In the 1900s the Germans colonized my country. The Germans treated the citizens of Zimbabwe very poorly. Some of them became slaves and some worked for very little money.

The people in Zimbabwe were hurt for many years by the German people who came to my country’s land. After they got their independence they were free. They made their own laws.

The people in my country were given the right to freedom.  They got their independence in 1980. The people of my country were very happy and glad that after so many years they finally got their independence. They got their independence by having a revolution against the Germans. The people were happy they got their freedom.

The problems that my country had after they got their independence in 1980 were somewhat bad. ZANU promised the people that they would establish peace and state security. Some of the problems they are facing today are terrorism and increasing violence by the police.  There are bandits on some of the roads in Zimbabwe. Some people do bad things just to get money for themselves.

If my country was never colonized it would probably be a better place. It would have never been ruled by Germany have and would have never have had a revolution.  Some parts of the country would never split from Zimbabwe. There also would be no terrorism or bandits and no violence in the police. Things might be a lot different if the country had never been colonized.
