A BRIEF HISTORY OF UGANDA
The country that took over Uganda was Great Britain. The British would not allow the Ugandan people to own property. The British government owned the land. The people where not allowed to own land of their own.
Colonization of the land was good because they gained more crops. They used these crops for trade. They were later put under the control of the British Foreign Office. Their executive and legislative council was founded in 1921. Uganda has never fully recovered from all the skirmishes.
They won their independence on October 9, 1962 from Great Britain. They still have problems with their keeping of independence in their country. They were left with the land that they had owned. So Uganda was left with their land to keep for their uses.
After they won their independence, they had lots of feuds over power while Prime Minister Obote was trying to gain control of Uganda from President Mutesa. During this process he killed and tortured 10,000 people. Once, he won he declared himself President of Uganda. Uganda is one of the poorest countries in Africa. Avoid the border of Congo. The Northeast is prone to violence and banditry.
I think that if Great Britain had not taken Uganda it would have not been as well put together. They would not have had as many crops or a government and not much in general for ownership. If the British had not taken control of Uganda it could still be looking for other ways you could take and sell your things for an income. If it wasn’t taken over by Britain it might not have as many feuds for power
