A BRIEF HISTORY OF SUDAN
The British took over Sudan in 1898. When that happened they started slavery. In 1953 they granted Sudan independence.
Colonization hurt the indigenous people. The way it hurt them was they were selling them as slaves. They were selling them as slaves and trading them for Egyptian goods.
This country got its independence in1953. The way they got their independence was that Britain and Egypt went into a deadlock because Egypt wanted Britain to withdraw, and Britain wanted to remain in control. In 1952 both countries agreed to give Sudan independence.
The problem that occurred after they became independent was that some of them wanted to be part of another nation. From here they went between governments and military regimes trying to get stable. Still, in 1983, they ended up in what seems to be a unending civil war.
If Sudan had never been colonized, the way I think the country would be different is that they wouldn’t be in a civil war. They’d have better trade with the rest of the world. They wouldn’t have as many factories.
