A BRIEF HISTORY OF ALGERIA

The European nation that colonized Algeria was Germany. The people that colonized Algeria used the local natives to pick olives and drain them for olive oil, pick the grains in the field, and make well-built forts in case the Berbers attacked.

Colonization of Algeria hurt the natives because they did all that work to just get paid a few coins. Even kids were doing a lot of work instead of getting a good education. The people also got no medical care and they had to walk barefoot and catch all kind of sicknesses because of walking on the streets. They also didn’t get a lot of food and water while they were working. Algeria just wasn’t a good place to live back then.

The Algerians won their independence in a long, hard-fought battle through most of the 1950’s, to achieve independence in 1962. All the time before that, Algeria’s primary political party had controlled politics their way. Algerians got tired of them making all the rules and moved to counter the political party’s centrality. They defeated the political party and won their independence and were able to have elections the fair way, to see who would rule or lead.

Some additional problems Algeria faced were having trouble about who to elect as their leader, because they all wanted to lead! Another problem they faced was more people were revolting because they didn’t like what their new rulers were doing. Some problems Algeria is facing today is a lot of terrorist attacks because of the war. Also there are a bunch of terrorists all over the streets.

What I think they are doing is wrong. I think that the people living there need to be very cautious because of all the war going on. The population is also decreasing rapidly because innocent people are killed.
