A BRIEF HISTORY OF NIGER
The French colonized Niger in 1922.On August 3, 1960 Niger declared its independence.
Colonization hurt the country Niger.
The French used existing political structures and didn’t change the government. There was little economic development and few opportunities for education.
The country of Niger faced bad government, and five years of drought, and many living creatures died.
The citizens of Niger are facing extreme poverty, bad schools, low reading rates, and poor health systems. Slavery was banned in 2003, but many people still live as slaves.
