A BRIEF HISTORY OF BOTSWANA
Botswana was colonized by Great Britain. The British people made the people of Botswana pay heavy taxes.
Colonization hurt the people in a couple of ways. One way is that the taxes were very high, another way is that because of the taxes being high you needed jobs, and the third way is that because of their race the people weren’t treated fairly.
By making a legislative council the Africans eventually made Britain lose control.
When the people started over in Botswana, they really did start over, meaning that they had no natural resources, they had a harsh climate, and also no schools roads or health clinics left over from its days of being a British colony.
Today in Botswana the people there are very close, yet very far from civilization here in America. They have homes and cities, but they also have a lot of wildlife too. Their ways of homes and cities aren’t quite like ours, but they are sort of close!
