A BRIEF HISTORY OF SOUTH AFRICA
The European nation that took over South Africa was Great Britain. The British didn't treat the natives very nice . They forced them into slavery. The British forced the South Africans into cheap labor but put them into homelands. On May 31, 1961 South Africa got its independence from England after long wars that ended with South Africa losing always.
The white South Africans voted on their independence and got it without a war, but it was many years before black South Africans got equality.
The problems that South Africa faces today are that Jacob Zuma , who was recently elected president is now faced with criminal charges such as racketeering and money laundering. The government is considering knocking him out of presidency and replacing him with the runner up from the last election.
