A BRIEF HISTORY OF ZAMBIA
My country was colonized by Great Britain. They treated the people like slaves. They mostly were forced to work in mines.
I think colonization eventually helped them by finding out about copper deposits and how to mine. In addition, it gave them better medical care and education.
Zambia got its independence on October 24, 1964. The UNIP’s campaigning worked so effectively that the federation collapsed.
When they became independent the British taxed the people so badly that they went to war with southern Rhodesia and later on the Portuguese.
I think that they wouldn’t have found copper until a lot later. They would be poorer, and also they would have a harder time trading and communicating.
