A BRIEF HISTORY OF SOMALIA
Italy invaded Ethiopia from Italian Somaliland in 1936. Somalia was owned by Italy but Italy had to help Somalia become independent by 1960. Italy treated indigenous people well. They helped Somalia gain its independence from Ethiopia. Independence was important because Ethiopia did not treat them well.
Colonization helped Somalia because they learned stuff like reading, writing, and getting food for themselves. Another reason it helped was it started people’s need for certain products. So people began to make businesses Later they started to get better medical care.
Somalia won its independence with the help of Italy. Italy helped them win independence after Ethiopia took Somalia from Italy. Italy invaded Ethiopia and took it back. After that, Italy had to help Somalia become independent.
After they became independent, Puntland and southern Somalia were forced to unite, which was not a very good idea. Somalia is one of the most dangerous places in the world today! Because of this, travel to Somalia is not smart. It’s only possible to travel to northern Somalia.
If this country had not been colonized, they would not have the products they need to live. Education would not be possible so they would not be able to communicate. Slavery would have been a problem also. Schooling was not available so they could not learn or be educated.
