A BRIEF HISTORY OF TANZANIA
The country that colonized Tanzania was Germany and they tricked local chiefs in to giving up land. They treated them very poorly they beat them and hardly fed them. They made the people slaves. They eventually halted slavery thanks to David Livingstone. He had experienced the cruelty for himself and wanted it stopped. They were still treated poorly even though they were not slaves any more. The Germans were still taking more and more land.
Finally, the Taninis rebelled but they did not win. after this event they were treated even worse than before. In 1936 they finally won their independence.
