A BRIEF HISTORY OF Gabon:
France colonized Gabon in 1910. The French were looking for ivory and slaves. They exploited the people and forced labor which was a little better than slavery. Some communities were forced to move into forest areas to collect rubber and other forest products.
In the 1940s and 1950s the people of Gabon formed political parties and then by 1960 they got there independence.
