A BRIEF HISTORY OF GUINEA
From 900 to 1100 France and Great Britain where fighting over the colonization of Guinea, and eventually France won the country and added it to French West Africa
Samori Toure fought against the French before they made it part of French West Africa. The French colonized Guinea for their own benefit and had no interest in the peoples education and gave them no services. They also took their land to grow coffee and bananas and they set up rubber plantations and mined the fields leaving nothing for the local people.
From 1450 to 1600 the Guineans had been wanting there independence back from France. They finally won it by demanding it. In1600 electing a new president named Ahmed Sekou Toure who made Guinea a communist country until his death.
