The
Benold Eagles won against the Tippit Eagles 27-6 in a cross town
rivalry. Benold got off to a great start by running 6 minutes
off the clock in the first quarter with a score by Jordan Haas
for 5 yards. Garrett Barton added the extra point with the
PAT. Benold took possession on downs by holding Tippit on
their first possession. However shortly after, Jon Andrews of
Tippit recovers a Benold miss snap fumble, however Tippit was
unable to capitalize on the turnover. With 3:41 left in the 2nd
quarter, Craig Braker of Benold scores from 3 yards out. Barton
provided the PAT. On the on-sueing kick off, Wade Harris of
Benold recovers a fumble due to a mis-handled Tippit kick off.
With 1:30 left in the 1st half, Mitchell Smith of
Benold scores from 20 yards out, to give Benold a 20-0 lead at
half-time. The start of the 2nd half was a tough a
defensive battle. Yet, with 36 seconds left in the 3rd
quarter, Jaice Lacaille scores from 1 yard out. PAT was good by
Barton. To put Tippit on the board, Jonathan Jones scored by
running 9 yards from his QB position with only 17 seconds left
in the game. Good sportsmanship prevailed. Benold Eagles
extend their record to 7-1, while Tippit drops to 6-2. The 8th
Grade A Team will play Cedar Park at Georgetown High School’s
Eagle Stadium on Tuesday November 10 at 5:00 for the District
Title.
Boys'
Basketball tryouts will be held November 12th thru 14th.
7th Grade Boys' Basketball
Tryouts will be from 7:30 a.m. until the end of 1st period
on Thursday and Friday (November 12th & 13th) and Saturday from
8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, the 14th.
8th Grade Boys' Basketball
Tryouts will be 9th period until 5:30 on Thursday and Friday
(November 12th & 13th) and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. on Saturday, the 14th.
All boys', regardless of grade,
must have all their Athletic Trainer paperwork on official UIL
forms turned in and must be cleared BEFORE they are
allowed to tryout, practice, or play in a game. Paperwork
can be picked up at the Boys' Athletic office, at the
Counselors office, or downloaded at the GISD Athletic Trainers
webpage linked on this site under Booster Clubs.

2009-2010 Basketball Schedule Released
The 2009-2010 Benold Middle School Boys'
Basketball schedule has been released. In addition to the 8 regular
District games, and the Eagles will face non-league opponents from the
Hays, Round Rock and Pflugerville ISD's. Both the A and B teams will
compete in the District Tournaments as well as Tournaments in Lake Travis and
Elgin. Boys' Basketball tryouts will be held November 12th thru 14th.
