BENOLD EXCELS AT CEDAR PARK MEET
The Benold Middle School Track and Field Teams had an outstanding outing at the Cedar Park Middle School Meet held March 7th. The effort was especially impressive since this was the first Meet of the season and there were many new participants. 8th Grade runner Bryan Richard started the meet off in impressive style by winning the 2400 Meter Run with a 9:02.28 time. He later came back to finish the daily double by also winning the 1600 Meter Run with an outstanding 5:44.71 time.
But that wasn't the only thing the Benold thinclads were able to accomplish either.
8th Grade Runner Jacob Vick won the 800 Meter Run with a School Record Time of 2:15.18.
In Relays, Benold took 1st Place in the 400 Meter Relay with a 48.79 time. Members of that event were: Matt Sanchez, Drew Willoughby, D'Andre Day, and Tori Dominguez. Another School Record was set in the 800 Meter Relay. Lane Quiros, Adam Sandoval, Tori Dominguez, and Drew Willoughby combined for a 1:45.78 time that was one of the best performances of the night. In the 1600 Meter Relay, Blair Murski, Drake Grigsby, Brandon Boone, and Jacob Vick finished 2nd with a 4:07.87 time.
Another steller performance was Tori Dominguez winning 1st Place in the 100 Meter Dash with an impressive 12.21 sprint.
On the 7th Grade side: The 400 Meter Relay Team of Byron Jimmerson, Kolton Hoehn, Dustin Weaver, and Jordan Haas finished 2nd with a 51.15 time.
The 1600 Meter Relay Team was Third with a 4:34.62. Members included: Justin Jones, Jace LaCaille, Robert Perez, and Justin Fullerton.
