BENOLD WINS 3 OF 4 FROM FORBES!
Benold Football “7th A” report:
October 21, 2008
It didn’t take long for Forbes to march down the field and immediately jump ahead of the mighty Benold Eagles. On the fourth play of the drive Forbes struck with a 48yd TD pass and take the lead 6-0 after a failed two point conversion. That was only the start of the fireworks! Immediately Benold answered with a quick three play drive that had RB Jordan Haas scampering 49 yards to even the score 6-6. The next series saw more of the same from Forbes this time with a 70yd TD pass and failed two point conversion to make the score 12-6 Forbes. The second quarter began with Forbes going 3 and out due to an outstanding defensive performance by Benold. On the first play of the ensuing drive Benold fumbled and Forbes ran the ball back for a quick touchdown making the score 18-6 Forbes. Just when it looked like Benold was down and out they received the kickoff and produced a workman like, 10 play drive that led to a 10yd burst in to the end zone by RB Jaice Lacaille to move the scoreboard to 18-12 and that was the end of the first half.
The second half started with more of the same from Benold as they showed heart and character by marching down the field in 10 plays for another score. The drive included carries by 5 different players, a touchdown by RB Jordan Haas and saw the offensive line take control. After a failed two point conversion we had a “barn burner” on our hands with the score all even at 18 apiece.
The fourth quarter saw Benold again on offense after holding Forbes to another quick 4 and out. Benold began the drive on Forbes 47 yard line and worked 7 hard plays that culminated in a tough, physical jaunt by RB Jaice Lacaille for what ended up being the game winning score of 26-18. The terrific performance moved Benold to 5-1 on the season.
