Eagles Split with Running Brushy...7th Grade Sweeps!!!

Benold Eagles “A” Report        October 28, 2008

The mighty Benold Eagles ran their season record to 6 – 1 Tuesday night in front of a packed house at Benold stadium. Running Brushy received the opening kick off and scored on a 55yd touchdown run. It looked like Running Brushy might make it a game but it would be all Benold after that opening drive! On Benold’s first drive, RB Jaice Lacaille scored on a 20yd jaunt that tied the ball game. After an easy 2 point conversion Benold took the lead for good. The next set of downs saw Running Brushy have to punt after a 4 and out. They made the fatal mistake of punting to offensive juggernaut Jordan Haas who received the kick and sprinted 65yds for a touchdown. At the end of Q1 the score was 16-6 Benold. The second quarter saw more terrific offense and defense from Benold and included two more touchdowns, one by RB Robert Perez and one by RB Jordan Haas and a stingy defense led by LB David Vicars. At the end of the first half the score was Benold 32 – Running Brushy 6.

The second have saw Benold receive the opening kick and march 47 yards to the end zone in 8 plays that culminated in a 16 yards TD run by RB Jaice Lacaille that pushed the score to 40 to 6. Running Brushy chose not to give up and came racing back with a quick score on a 37 yards touchdown run and the score was 40 – 12 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. 40-12 is how the game would end as the mighty Eagles continue to play well balanced, disciplined football. Next up is Tippit MS on Tuesday, November 4.
