Friendly Clip Art and Images PLEASE READ BEFORE USING MATERIAL FROM THE SITES BELOW Numerous websites advertise "free" clip art and images, but often these graphics are offered in violation of someone else's copyright. It is unethical and illegal to use copyrighted graphics without permission, and doing so opens you up to possible lawsuits, particularly when the copyrighted graphics are used on a web page which you post to the Internet. Below, you will find links to websites which legitimately offer copyright friendly clip art and images. If you use graphics from these websites, it is proper form to credit the website in your publication, including its URL (address). (Click HERE for an example of proper crediting.) BE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE SPECIFIC USAGE POLICY FOR EACH WEBSITE. Most clip art designers retain the copyright on their work, and as a result some sites limit the number of images you can use, while others require credit and a link back to their pages. If you are publishing a web page or document using clip art or photos not found in Microsoft Office on a GISD web server, you must provide the campus webmaster with a copy of a clip art site's usage policy BEFORE publishing your pages.
