Settling the Thirteen Colonies

An 8th grade Pathfinder

From 1607 to 1775 the “new land” was settled by people from various places in Europe. Eventually these communities became the thirteen colonies.

What brought these people to the New World? Why did they choose to settle in the New England Colonies? Or the Middle Colonies? Or the Southern Colonies?

Ask yourself: What were their political, economic, religious, social, intellectual, and artistic reasons for choosing these colonies?
