Benold Earns Gold Performance
Acknowledgements from T.E.A.

Benold Middle School
recently received three Gold Performance
Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency based on
our 2008 TAKS
scores for Commended Performance in Reading/ELA, Commended
Performance in Math, and
Comparable Improvement in Social Studies.
To receive Commended Performance in a subject area, we had to have at least 25%
or more of All Students and each student
subgroup that we are held accountable for score at or above a
2400 (roughly equivalent to an “A”) on the TAKS test.
To receive Comparable Improvement, we must have an average
Texas Growth Index within the top quartile (25%) of our 40
member campus comparison group.
We
are very proud of this accomplishment and the recognition
from the state. In 2004 we did not receive any
acknowledgements and in 2005 we received three Gold
Performance Acknowledgements for Attendance, Commended
Reading, and Comparable Improvement in Reading. In
2006 we received four Gold Performance Acknowledgements for
commended Reading, Commended Writing, commended Social
Studies and commended math. In 2007 we received four
Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas for
Commended Performance in Reading, Commended Performance in
Writing, Commended Performance in Social Studies, and
Comparable Improvement in Math.
Our
students and staff are making great progress in academic
student achievement and are to be commended for their
efforts.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
