School Walk for Diabetes

Carver Raises Over $2000 For

The American Diabetes Association

We raised $2,043 this year in our School Walk For Diabetes.  Thanks to all who participated.  We had an assembly where we gave out the thank you gifts to the students who helped and we had a special guest.  Mrs. Henry had said that she would kiss a pig while she wore an A&M shirt if we raised $3,000.  Well we were short but she said she was so proud of us she would still kiss a pig.  She didn't know he would be wearing an A&M shirt.  Caroline McReynolds was the top fundraiser raising $1,070.  Great job everyone.

We want to thank Amanda Sample from the American Diabetes Association for spending the day with us to kick-off our School Walk For Diabetes this year.  This year is very special to us because one of our students, Caroline McReynolds in Mrs. McCullough's class, the daughter of Sarah and James McReynolds, was just diagnosed with diabetes earlier this school year.  We are dedicating this years Walk to her and her family.  She has two older sisters who also attended Carver Elementary.   They are Hannah and Molly.  We hope you will join us in the fight against diabetes.

Below are pictures from Amanda's visit at our Kick-off and from our Assembly where we gave the students who raised money their thank you gifts and Mrs. Henry kissed a pig in an A&M shirt.
