Halloween Safety Tips

We have talked in class about the importance of being safe when participating in Halloween activities.  I have included a number of links that you can go to, to see more information.  Below are just a few of the things we feel parents need to think about on Halloween night so that it is a fun filled evening and all of our students stay safe.

  1. Don't let children eat their candy until the parents have checked it

  2. Don't eat candy that has been open or has a tear in it.

  3. Children under 12 should have adult supervision.

  4. Children over 12 should stay together in groups and never be alone.

  5. If you wear dark costumes please have something that will reflect light, such as tape or other clothing that will shine in the dark.

  6. Don't wear masks that limit your vision.  Put it on when going to a house but not as you walk around.

  7. Cross the street at cross walks or stop signs, and don't run between cars.  Many children are hit by cars on this night.

  8. Have a flashlight and be careful when going up to people's houses, use the sidewalk.

  9. Find a Fall Festival type activity to go to.  They have a lot of games, sometimes food and are a lot of fun.

  10. Parents when driving BE CAREFUL!!  Many children are hit by cars on this night.
