We will be talking about recycling once again this year at Carver. We recycle aluminum cans and computer printer ink cartridges and cell phones here at Carver to help raise money for our P.E. program. We are able to buy P.E. equipment and also stickers, pencils, and other things to give as rewards to our students. Be sure and save your aluminum cans and printer cartridges and old cell phones and send them to us. We are also recycling paper here at Carver. You can put any kind of paper product in the green recycling bin by the parking lot in front of the school. You can put magazines, newspapers, catalogs or any kind of paper product. DO NOT PUT CARDBOARD IN THE RECYCLE BIN! Thanks for your help in saving our resources by recycling.
In class we will talk about the things we can recycle such as aluminum cans,
plastic bottles, plastic bags from the store, paper, newspaper, cardboard,
glass and steel. We talked about how what we throw away affects our
environment and what we can do to help. We discussed how paper comes from
trees and how recycling can help save trees and aluminum cans can help keep
companies from digging into our Earth to make cans and and other things. Try
and help your child try and be Earth Smart, and recycle the
things that can be reused. The students really seemed to understand the
importance of saving our planet's resources. Don't forget about our recycling
aluminum cans project to raise money for equipment. We will be doing this all
year.
Don't forget America Recycles Day on November 15, 2007.
Recycling also helps the animals around us. Let's all do are part as we learn to be Earth Smart. Thanks.
