    Are you aware that each year smoking accounts for 438,000 premature deaths and that 38,000 nonsmokers die as a result of exposure to secondhand smoke (American Cancer Society Cancer Facts and Figures 2007)?
     
    Are you aware that in our Texas School Survey on Alcohol and Drugs 35% of GISD 7th-12th graders reported smoking cigarettes during their lifetime?
     
    It’s a fact: All cancers caused by cigarette smoking could be prevented completely.
