Staff Development :: Frequently Asked Questions
How do
I find out what classes are being offered?
Log into the staff
development system. Select the link for Class Listing to view
a list of all open classes, or a list by type (Technology, Language Arts,
etc.) Select the link for Class Calendar to view all open classes
on a monthly calendar.
How do I register for classes?
You must use the online registration system to register for classes.
Once you log in, use the Class Listing or Class Calendar to find
the class you want. Then click on the title. You'll
see the class details and a button that will allow you to add
the class to your schedule.
What is my password?
The Curriculum office can assist you with finding your user password.
Contact them at 943-5000 ext. 6038 for help. Staff development
email usually contains the password you'll need to use to login.
How do I know I am registered
for a class?
Whenever you add a class, you will receive a confirmation page
with all your class information. You can also check
back after you have registered to see all your classes by choosing
the MY CLASS SCHEDULE link. Please print your class schedule
as your record of registration.
How do I drop a class?
If you need to drop a class, you may do so by clicking on the
trash can next to the class in your schedule.
How do I know if a class is full?
On the class detail screen, you can see the class limit and the
number registered. Once a class is full, it will no longer
show up in the registration window and you cannot add it to your
schedule. Wait lists are no longer allowed.
Will food be provided?
As a general rule, food is not provided at GISD workshops.
You may check with the contact person listed in the catalog, or
review the workshop descriptions. Soft drinks and snack
machines are accessible in the campus lounges.
Do I need to bring anything with
me?
If there are any special materials you need to bring with you
to the workshop, you will see those materials listed in the course
descriptions. Please bring pen and paper to the workshops
for which you are registered.
How do I get to the workshop?
Each workshop's location is listed in the description. For
district workshop locations, use the District Map (linked from
the home page).
How do I find out more details
about a workshop?
If the description in the course listing does not answer all your
questions, contact the presenter or the contact person for that
class.
What type of credit will I receive
for the workshops?
You will receive the number of credit hours listed for a course
if you attend the entire course. If the course is marked
as a G/T or Special Ed credit course, those hours will count towards
your G/T or Special Ed requirements for professional development.
Can I see all the classes for
which I've received credit?
Yes. Choose My Credits to see your course listing from courses
completed. If a recently attended course is not appearing,
please allow time for the Curriculum office to record your attendance.
All credits should appear by the end of the summer, and you can
print additional copies of your class certificates here.
