B.S in Biology & Health M.Ed. in Secondary Education
This is my first year in Georgetown ISD and Richarte High School. I already feel at home and so excited to be a part of this community. I was born, raised, and have lived most of my life in Dallas, Texas. I have been teaching for 13 years. I taught in Dallas ISD for my first three years. My last ten years have been in Richardson ISD. Courses I have taught include on-level and Pre-AP Biology, Aquatic Science, Physics, Forensic Science, and Research & Design. I am a passionate teacher and enjoy students realizing the importance of science in our every day lives and world.
Away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Don, and my son Layne. We also have two adult children back in the Dallas area, Haley and Austin. Plus, we just became grandparents to our sweet Jacqueline Nicole! I'm very close to my immediate family members (parents, and two older sisters, two nieces, two nephews, and a great-nephew) and love to celebrate life with them and other extended family and friends.
Appreciate and share all that is good in life by being a postive light in the world! Deedra Barr September 2017
